Visitors to the WWI remembrance sites come from all over the world. They deserve the best possible welcome so, in 2014, Nord–Pas de Calais Tourist Board and our partners set up a network of friendly establishments under the banner “Northern France Battlefields Partner”.  

Our goal is to raise awareness among tourism professionals of the history and heritage of the Great War so they can provide helpful advice to visitors touring the Remembrance Trails in Northern France.

All the hotels, guest houses, self-catering lets, restaurants and tourist offices in the network belong to Qualité Tourisme or a similar quality assurance scheme (Gîtes de France, Clévacances, Logis de France). And all have made the effort to train their reception staff by signing them up to an awareness course and a guided tour of the main sites along the Remembrance Trails.

Northern France Battlefields Partner has enjoyed steady growth since the network launched in June 2014 and currently comprises more than 300 trained staff from 220 establishments.

Participating establishments are easy to spot thanks to the network logo they display. Enjoy a warm welcome and get helpful advice during your stay in Northern France. 

The network ‘Northern France Battlefields Partner’ was set up as part of the scheme ‘Contrat de Destination’ to promote an inter-regional approach to tourism along the Western Front in France.
